Black hawk down section 4

this section was very nerve-racking. u never new when a Somalian was going to pop up and kill one of the americans. It was also ironic that they left there biggest advantage there night vision goggles back at the base. I was also suppressed by how many people got injured in the rescue convoy even though they had good protection.

section 3 black hawk down

The battle is getting out of control the americans in this chapter. All there efforts to rescue the crews of the downed blackhawks are in vain. They have either gotten to the crew but then they cant escape and get them out or they don't have any people to get to it. It think you would have to be pretty brave to volunteer to go down and try to rescue the crew with just one other person as with the two D boys and the second black hawk. I am also wandering what will happen to Durrent now that he has been captured.

This section was very gruesome and surprising. I thought that there was only going to be one black hawk that would go down. i also found it terrible how the people in the hummer convoy had to keep driving around under all that fire with no were to go because the helicopters cant give them the directions in time. I also find it strange how every single Somalian has a gun of some sort.

This book is very gory and hard to read and also is very long. i was shocked when it talked about the guy falling 70 feet out of the helicopter. i don't think you could survive that. It makes me sick that they would use women and children as shields to protect themselves. I thought it was hard to read when the guys finger got shot off and he was holding it in his hand. I would just faint right there.

a long way gone number 11

I did not like the ending of this book. I thought it was strange how it chose to end with a story that he heard as a kid. I did not really understand he significance of it. I am also wandering were he got the money the money to go to America. He said he only had a 100dollers left and I no that would not be enough to go to America. It was also very sad when his uncle died of a fever.  Thought he was going to actually live. I was surprised when the government troops attacked the big city. It seems to me that the rest of the army would come back and retake it.

a long way gone number 10

These chapters were pretty interesting but in a different way then the other ones. I had never really thought about what it would be like to visit another county that was so different then yours without having good education. I think it would be very freighting to see snow if you had never heard or seen it before. It would also be very strange feeling how cold it was when its often more then 100 degrees in Africa. I thought it was funny how he didn't know how to use the elevator and how he was scared of it. It would be pretty amazing to see all those big buildings In New York after you had only seen a few buildings bigger then huts.

a long way gone number 9

I was surprised by these chapters. He took quite a leap fro beating up everyone in sight to being happy and making new friends. I did no expect him to find a girl he liked and for a while I thought that Esther liked him. I had also completely forgotten about his uncle so when he mentioned him I was surprised. I was kind of disgusting when he was talking about when he got shot especially when they were pulling the bullet out of his leg. I did no think he would recover so soon. I am also wondering what is going to happen because there is so much of the book left to read.

what book i would like to read

I would not like to have a romance book and would like it to be a action book.

a long way gone number 8

I found these chapters to be different compared to the others. I don’t know why they would just go and randomly choose people instead of taking them all back. It showed had bad the boys really were. They would beat up al the civilians and steal drugs. I would try to accept there help. It is amazing what they did to themselves with those drugs. I am surprised that they didn't kill them. I was surprised by the part were  the rebel boys said the army burned my village and killed my family especially since one of the army boys had just said that. It was very gruesome when they were talking about the part were they buried the two men alive.

a long way gone number 7

These chapters were very sad. So many bad things happened but I think the worst was the fact that after he killed that person he began to like killing. But he didn't realize that the only reason that the only reason he didn't have nightmares all the time is because he took all those drugs. After the first night he didn't even seem to care that his friends had died. In these chapters you saw that the soldiers are really no better then the rebels. They even burn down there own villages. I am surprised that they don’t die just from all the drugs they take. It was very disgusting when they were executing the prisoners. It is terrible but I think that they began to think of war as a game.

a long way gone number 6

These chapters were both very sad and very gruesome. I thought the worst part was when he got to the village wee his parents were and the old man told him his parents were there and then just when they were about to go down and see them the village got attacked. That would make me go completely insane. I just could not handle that and I do not blame him for attacking the old man for making them wait. it scared me at the start of chapter 12 when they said they were put under gunpoint. I thought that they were rebels capturing them. It was very gruesome when they were talking about the different ways they kill people. I could tell he had been completely desensitized at the end when he was talking about laughing at the rebels as he burned them.

a long way gone number 5

This chapter was very long but I did not think much happened in it. I thought that the only major event was that saidu dies. I think he died from eating the crow that fell out of the sky. It was very sad though when they were telling the stories about what happened to their families. Especially the ones whose sisters got raped and then his whole family were taken away. I thought it was very strange how the dogs kept howling. It made me think that the rebels were going to attack while they were sleeping. I don’t see why he told that story about the spider either. I did not see what that had to do with the main story. I was also happy that there were no gory parts in this chapter.

a long way gone number 4

The first chapter was not that bad I thought. Though it would be impossible for me to be away from people for all that time. I would get so lonely and be terrified of all the strange animals around me. It would have been very nice to finally see someone after all that time. It would be very heartbreaking though to stumble upon all the villages filled with dead people. The next chapter was worse though. I would be enraged if I had been trying to fight for my life for all that time and then get to a village and have all the villagers attack me. It was truly awful how the village on the beach took their shoes away and made them walk on the sand for al that time in that heat. It was disgusting how there feet got torn apart by the sand. I don’t understand why they didn't just walk in the water though.

a long way gone number three

I thought that these two chapters were more about how he was faring and what he was doing with his life at the time. I don’t know how he could have the strength to walk all those miles every day eating nothing but unripe oranges. Then he got separated from the rest of his family and his friends. That would be terrible to be all alone always being afraid you will get killed. I also don’t understand how he manages to wander through the jungle without getting lost. It would be very heart breaking I think to have to find all those villages that were completely empty.

a long way gone number two

These chapters were not as graphic as the last ones but the things they talked about were just as bad. Even though they escaped the rebels they still had to walk all the way through the woods starving. And when they got to the village they didn't have any money to buy food so they had to go all the way back and risk getting captured and when they got back no one would sell them food because they wanted to keep it for themselves. I thought that was terrible. Then when they were captured they thought they were all going to be killed. And then they shot that old man in the head with a blank round and made him think he was dying that was nothing but cruelty.

A long way gone number one

I found these first chapters to be very gruesome and disgusting. Its terrible what war is like but the fact that children are fighting makes it even worse. I found the part when the two children groups killed each other and then just went and sat on the dead bodies and ate like it didn't even matter at all. I personally would probably throw up just from seeing al the blood. I would never be able to eat and talk with my friends.  I also found it to be very wrong that they would shoot at people running away from them for no apparent reason. Its as if they just want to kill them for fun. I don’t see how going and killing innocent civilians in little towns that no one cares about is going to overthrow the government.

forrest blog 7

At the very beginning they did not no what to think of the white man and his iron horse. So they decided to kill him. After they killed him there entire village was wiped out and they decided that was not such a good idea. When they came to umofia they thought he was rather amusing and paid no attention to him. They just wanted to see his iron horse and liked listening to them sing. They did not think it was a big deal and they allowed him to stay. But soon after he started converting more and more people to there new religion. Soon they became to powerful for anything to be done. The white men started taking prisoners when they did something they didn't like. Then they would beat them and make them do hard labor. The British mostly view them as dumb savages who are just getting in their way of colonizing. When Mr. Brown was there it was not that bad for the natives. But when he got sick and had to leave it got much worse. They brought Mr. Smith in to replace him and he did not respect the natives at all. He started to beat them and too far more prisoners.

forrest blog3

In mbanta the proverb mother is supreme means that when you need comforting you come back to your mother. Okankwo will not acknowledge these and he suffers in any ways. He thinks that whenever you show even the smallest amount of weakness you are puny and girl like. he thinks that girls are weak and can not be looked up upon. He will not acknowledge that females have many thing they can do. this causes many problems for him. like when he beat his wife in the week of peace because he did not respect her.

Forrest's opinion of okonkwo

I view okonkwo as a tall strong man with a  short temper. I think he is a mean man who is not very kind to others. I think this because he always talks with his fists when he is angry because h stutters when he try's to talk. he also beat his wife when she went out to get her hair done. This would normally not be a bad thing in there culture but he did it on the week of peace when it is forbidden two beat or kill people because the gods are getting ready for the planting season. he also thinks everyone is lazy from his sons to his own father. Even if your father is lazy you are not supposed to think of him as worthless. but okonkwo is also a had worker. when he got his first yams and planted them and a drought came he built little tents over all of them to try and get them to survive. Even though he started out his life with no yams from his father and was already in debt because of his father he managed to make a living for himself.

How the story will end

Because of the fact that P.S was so nervous and had to think so much before he cheated I predict that he will turn himself in. I think this cause he was so nervous and had to think so long about it before he did it. And the only reason he did it was to make his father happy whom he doesn’t even like that much. Also after he cheated he felt very guilty about himself and when Charlie asked him how he did he got mad at him. Also he didn’t go to lunch because he felt so bad about himself. Because of these reasons I think he will turn himself in. but I also think the teacher will be nice to him and let him still pass the test because he had the guts to turn himself in. and then he will be able to go to Colorado with his friends like he wanted to in the first place.

Monitoring sites with Hawkeye

            Monitoring sites with Hawkeye

I do not agree with this new program because I think it is a invasion of ones privacy and right to free speech think if some wants to say something than they should be able o say it. They probably shouldn’t put it on a public site where everyone can see it but if they want to it is there choice. I can understand why people would get mad if they said something really racist but if they say they just don’t like a coach they shouldn’t get in trouble for it. They defiantly shouldn’t be kicked of a sports team for it. And there are not going to be any really important people looking on face book to see what some random kid has to say abut one of there teachers. I also don’t think some ones best friend is going t think less of the person who says it especially if the kid is anything like the person who said it. I do not think that just because you put something on the Internet it becomes public. I believe people should not monitor other peoples Myspace or face book accounts unless they have permission two. What you put on face book should only be there for your friends to see.
