I thought that these two chapters were more about how he was faring and what he was doing with his life at the time. I don’t know how he could have the strength to walk all those miles every day eating nothing but unripe oranges. Then he got separated from the rest of his family and his friends. That would be terrible to be all alone always being afraid you will get killed. I also don’t understand how he manages to wander through the jungle without getting lost. It would be very heart breaking I think to have to find all those villages that were completely empty.

I agree with you, I have no idea how he managed to walk through the forest alone everyday from dawn to dusk. I also don't know how he manages without his friends or family. I feel terribly that he had to do this all alone and have no hope in the world, but still want to go on.
I also agree with you. I have no idea how he was able to walk all of those miles all alone. I would just give up if I had to walk all of those miles with no one.
